Leeli Cycles – Workshop, Servicing & Sales Terms and Conditions
- 1. Introduction & Legal Agreement
These Terms and Conditions govern all workshop and in‑store services provided by Leeli Cycles, including bicycle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, upgrades, commission sales, trade‑ins, store credit, and related activities. By booking a service, leaving a bicycle or component with us, or requesting any work, the customer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
“We”, “us”, and “our” refer to Leeli Cycles. “You” and “your” refer to the customer or bicycle owner. These terms operate in accordance with UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation.
- 2. Prices, Estimates & Additional Charges
All prices for labour and parts are stated in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Labour is charged at our current workshop rate and may be itemised by job or by time spent. Estimates are provided in good faith based on the information and condition presented at the time of assessment, but they are not fixed quotations unless expressly stated as such.
If additional work, parts, or labour are required once the bicycle or component has been inspected in more detail, we will endeavour to contact you before proceeding where the cost increase is significant. Minor adjustments, consumables, and small parts necessary to complete the repair safely may be added at our discretion.
Supplier price changes, parts availability, and shipping costs may affect the final invoice. We are not responsible for changes in manufacturer or supplier pricing between the time of estimate and the time of ordering or fitting.
Recycling, Disposal & Environmental Levies
Leeli Cycles applies recycling, disposal, and environmental levies to certain removed or replaced components. These charges cover the safe, legal, and environmentally responsible disposal of items that cannot be reused, including tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables, hoses, drivetrain components, batteries (where accepted), lights, electrical accessories, and damaged or contaminated parts.
These levies reflect the costs associated with waste handling, transport, recycling, and compliance with UK environmental regulations, including the WEEE Regulations and local authority disposal requirements.
- 3. Services, Repairs & Workshop Policies
All servicing and repairs are carried out in our workshop. We do not normally perform roadside or on‑site repairs except at pre‑arranged events or by prior agreement. Repair times may vary depending on workload, parts availability, and the complexity of the issue.
We aim to carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and, where applicable, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice. Test rides may be required to confirm that a repair has been successful.
We reserve the right to refuse to work on bicycles or components that are excessively dirty, unsafe, structurally compromised, or otherwise unsuitable for service until they have been cleaned or made safe. Cleaning charges may apply.
While‑You‑Wait Repairs & Workshop Access Policy
Customers are welcome to wait inside the shop floor area while their bicycle is being serviced. However, to ensure repairs are carried out safely, accurately, and to a high professional standard, we ask that customers avoid anything more than light conversation during the repair process.
Our mechanics follow structured routines developed through experience and manufacturer guidelines. These routines ensure repairs are completed methodically and without missed steps. For this reason, customers must not interfere with or direct how work should be carried out.
We take pride in attention to detail and always aim to identify the root cause of faults, including those not immediately obvious. Our goal is to get things right the first time. Proper diagnosis and high‑quality repair work cannot be rushed and may require additional time for troubleshooting, assessment, or testing.
If you are not in urgent need of an immediate repair, we strongly recommend booking in advance. Customers must also be prepared to leave their bicycle and return later if the repair requires more time than expected.
Customers are not permitted to enter the workshop area or stand over the mechanic while work is being carried out.
Outsourcing, Warranty Servicing & Third‑Party Liaison
Certain repairs or diagnostics may require outsourcing to specialist technicians, authorised service centres, or brand‑approved facilities. This includes warranty assessments, warranty repairs, and work that must legally or contractually be carried out by the original dealer or manufacturer.
Where necessary, we may contact original dealers, brand service centres, warranty teams, insurance companies, trade suppliers, or independent expert engineers on your behalf. Relevant information (serial numbers, photos, diagnostic notes, service history) may be shared to support the assessment or claim.
Outsourced work is subject to the third party’s timescales and procedures. Leeli Cycles is not responsible for delays or decisions made by external service centres, insurers, or warranty departments.
- 4. Parts, Components & Compatibility
We aim to use suitable, safe, and compatible parts for all repairs. Where possible, we follow manufacturer recommendations. If a requested part is unavailable, we may suggest an alternative of similar quality.
Customer‑supplied parts are fitted entirely at your own risk. We provide no warranty on such parts and are not liable for failures, incompatibility, or performance issues arising from them.
Hidden cracks, structural fatigue, corrosion, or pre‑existing wear may not be visible during initial inspection. We are not responsible for failures caused by underlying damage not reasonably detectable at the time of service.
Wear & Tear and Pre‑Existing Condition
General wear, usage, age, and condition prior to service, trade‑in, or commission sale may reduce value or affect repair outcomes. Cosmetic wear, mechanical wear, structural fatigue, missing parts, previous repairs, non‑OEM components, and age‑related deterioration all contribute to reduced value or increased repair requirements.
- 5. E‑Bike Systems & Electrical Components
E‑bikes may be subject to additional safety and warranty requirements. We may refuse to work on e‑bikes that are illegal, modified beyond manufacturer specifications, or unsafe.
Batteries must be supplied with the correct keys and charged to a suitable level for diagnostics. We are not responsible for battery degradation, BMS faults, or loss of charge during testing.
We do not repair internal wiring, controllers, sensors, or motor internals unless we are an authorised service provider for that brand.
- 6. Cosmetic Damage Disclaimer
Normal workshop processes may cause minor cosmetic marks, especially where components are seized, corroded, overtightened, or worn. This includes clamp marks, scuffs, scratches, thread damage, and marks from tool contact.
We always aim to minimise cosmetic impact, but we cannot guarantee that all work will be free from minor cosmetic evidence of servicing.
- 7. Callouts & Off‑Site Services
All work is normally carried out in our workshop. In exceptional circumstances, and only by prior agreement, we may offer collection and return services for a stated fee.
- 8. Commission Sales, Trade‑Ins & Store Credit
Leeli Cycles offers commission sales and trade‑in services for bicycles, components, and accessories. By leaving an item with us, you agree to the following terms.
Commission Sales
Commission fee: up to 20% (default 15%). Selling/storage fee: £20 (or £20 per month for large items). Remaining balance is issued as store credit unless otherwise agreed. Store credit expires after 12 months.
Commission Sale Time Scales
Initial sales period: 3 months. Price reductions may occur at 3 and 6 months. After 12 months, the item may be absorbed into storage and administrative costs.
Servicing Requirements for Commission Items
Items must be safe, functional, and presentable before sale. Required servicing or parts may be carried out at our discretion and deducted from final credit.
Trade‑In Valuations & Time Scales
Trade‑in valuations are valid for 7 days. Once accepted, the transaction must be completed within 14 days. Values may change if condition or market value changes.
Depreciation & Market Value
Value may decrease due to market changes, age, wear, recalls, or seasonal demand. Leeli Cycles is not responsible for depreciation during the commission or trade‑in period.
Storage Fees & Abandoned Commission Items
If uncollected or unsold and contact attempts fail, items may be treated as abandoned. A Notice of Intention to Dispose will be issued under the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
- 9. Abandoned & Uncollected Serviced Bikes
Items must be collected within 14 days of notification. After this, storage fees may apply.
Abandonment Time Scales
If uncollected for 6 weeks (42 days), a Notice of Intention to Dispose will be issued. If not collected by the deadline, the item may be sold, recycled, or disposed of. Proceeds may be used to recover outstanding charges.
- 10. Customer Responsibilities
You confirm you are the legal owner or authorised to approve repairs. You must provide accurate contact details and collect your bicycle promptly.
Remove accessories before drop‑off. We are not responsible for loss or damage to accessories left on the bicycle.
You are responsible for remembering your own fit settings (saddle height, bar angle, suspension settings, pressures, etc.). These may be adjusted during service.
- 11. Legal Protections & Liability Limits
We comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, pre‑existing faults, manufacturer defects, or failures caused by customer‑supplied parts.
We reserve the right to refuse service in cases of unsafe bicycles or abusive behaviour.
- 12. Post‑Service Corrections
A two‑week correction period applies for adjustments related to the original service, provided no new damage, wear, or modifications have occurred.
